Former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, was arrested on Tuesday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The arrest was carried out at the Abuja residence of the politician.
Reports indicate that Okorocha has earlier resisted arrest but later succumbed after the EFCC laid siege to his house at gunpoint for many hours.
Okorocha has being slapped with a 17-charge count bordering on Fraud to the tune of N2.9 billion.
The fraud case levelled against him has been filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja, with the ex Governor charged along with co-conspirators, Anyim Nyerere Chinenye, Naphtali International Limited, Perfect Finish Multi Projects Limited, Consolid Projects Consulting Limited, Pramif International Limited, and Legend World Concepts Limited.
