
Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Wednesday afternoon, secured the Presidential ticket on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former Governor of Lagos State secured the win at the party’s primaries held at the Eagle Square, Abuja.
He totalled 1,271 votes, four times as many as his nearest rival, Rotimi Amaechi, who secured 316 votes.
Vice President, Yemi Osibanjo, came in third position with 225 votes.
Senate President, Ahmad Lawan and Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, followed in fourth and fifth with 152, and 47 votes respectively.
A total of 2, 300 delegates voted in the Primaries that saw 6 candidates pull out of the elections on D-Day.
Tinubu will now square off against the Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s Peter Obi, among others, in what promises to be a keenly contested Presidential elections come 2023.
