Real Madrid Goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, has been nominated for the 2022 Yashin Trophy.

The trophy, which is an association football award, is presented annually by France Football to the best performing goalkeeper.

This year’s Award has 10 Goalkeepers shortlisted.

Among them are Chelsea FC’s Edouard Mendy, Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer, Manchester City’s Ederson and Athletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak.

Others include Tottenham Hotspur’s Hugo Lloris, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kevin Trapp, AC Milan’s Mike Maignan and Sevilla’s Yassine Bounou.

All of these goalkeepers were nominated for their brilliant individual displays in the season just past.

While Courtois will boast of winning the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup, Mendy can boast of winning the Club World Cup.

AC Milan won the Italian League, with Maignan catching the eye with impressive displays.

Legendary German Goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, continues to defy the age factor with Bundesliga and trophies after another.

Kevin Trapp, on that list, won the UEFA Europa League with Frankfurt, defeating FC Barcelona on the way to a famous win.

One thing is for sure, this year’s contest will be tightly contested.
