Manchester City downed West Ham 0-2 at the London Stadium on Sunday evening.

An Erling Haaland brace in both halves saw Pep Guardiola’s charges make it 1/1 in their first English Premier League game of the 2022/23 season.

West Ham Goalkeeper, Alphonse Areola, tripped Man City’s new signing in the box in the first half and referee, Michael Oliver, pointed to the spot.

Haaland picked himself up and slotted the ball past the West Ham Goalkeeper in the 36th minute.

The goal was enough to earn City a first half win.

After the restart, West Ham grew in confidence as they searched for the equalizer.

The Hammers had a couple of decent half chances of their won to level matters but the City rearguard stood firm.

Manchester City’s creative midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, played in Haaland, who went past West centre backs to slot in a second goal for City.

From then on, the 3 points looked destined for the visitors as they controlled proceedings brilliantly.

0-2 was how things ended for City and 3 points they will now take back to the Etihad.
