Chief Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye MFR, turns 76years today.
This Music great was born on September 22, 1946.
The Nigerian juju Singer, Songwriter and multi-instrumentalist was born in Osogbo, Ondo state, Nigeria.
Sunny Ade is famed for his successful albums, “Juju Music” in 1982 and “Synchro System” in 1983.
It was once well reported that during an era in the 80s, the King of Juju Music would have been booked for performances throughout an entire calender year! Such was his mastery and huge followership.

He, remarkably, bagged a Grammy Award nominations for his excellence in 1983.

The Singer’s studio album, “Odu” which was recorded in 1988, also saw him nominated for another Grammy Award that same year.
Among the numerous awards achieved by this phenomenal singer includes, an induction into the Headies Hall of Fame at the 2020 Headies Awards and an induction into the Hard Rock Cafe Hall of Fame in 2016.
The King currently occupies the position of Chairperson of the Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria.
