EPL Announce 3 Out of 10 Weekend Fixtures Postponed

The English Premier League (EPL) has announced, on Monday, that 3 of the 10 upcoming weekend fixtures have been postponed.

This is due to the burial ceremony of the late Queen Elizabeth II scheduled for Monday, September 19th.

The affected games are Chelsea Vs Liverpool, Manchester United Vs Leeds United and Brighton Vs Crystal Palace.

The rest of the fixtures, the EPL announced, will go ahead as scheduled.

The decision to postpone the affected games became cogent as Police officials will be stretched thin during this period of mourning and will not be able to effectively police all fixtures as well as the Queen’s burial.

It will be recalled that the Queen, Elizabeth II, passed on last week Thursday, September 8.

All Premier League fixtures for last weekend we’re postponed as a result.

The Queen has since been succeed by King Charles III.
