The latest news is that Diego Costa’s application will now go to a panel.
This much was relayed by transfer expert, David Ornstein, on Tuesday.
While David explained that Costa had failed to qualify automatically through new points system, his application was not rejected outright as many had reported.
He can technically be granted a work permit as the panel will now decide whether/not to grant a permit.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are expecting Costa to still arrive this evening for his medicals while his application hearing occurs simultaneously.
If the deal goes through, this will be Costa’s second stint in the English Premier League (EPL).
His first stint was with Chelsea FC where he won the EPL title.
