A Jorginho converted penalty in the 7th minute of 1st half added time saw Thomas Tuchel’s side victorious away at Goodison Park.
This came after a foul on Ben Chilwell by Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucoure in the penalty area.
The game was overshadowed by one of the lengthiest stoppages in EPL history.
In the first half, 8minutes were added at the end of normal time following Ben Godfrey’s 10th minute injury.
Debuts were handed to Chelsea new signings, Kalidou Koulibaly and Raheem Sterling, who started from the onset.
Both players had outings to remember with very impressive displays.
The second half saw Christian Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, loan returnees, Conor Gallagher and Armando Broja, as well as new signing, Marc Cucurella, come into the side in place of Ben Chilwell, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Kalidou Koulibaly and Jorginho.
The second half saw a further 10minutes added to normal time after a fans in the Everton stands felt unwell and needed to be treated by medic from both teams.
Police Officers made their way into the field to alert the referee of the danger.
Despite all of Chelsea’s best efforts, Everton refused to let in a 2nd goal as Chelsea won a narrow 0-1.
